PASC Family,

We are thrilled to announce the hiring of Andres Hurtado as the new Technical Director of Phoenixville Area Soccer Club.

Andres grew up in Cali, Colombia before moving to the USA and graduating from West Chester East HS. After high school, he competed collegiately at Wilmington University (DII).

Andres' brings a diverse professional background including roles in education as an ESL/Spanish teacher and college coaching positions at Wilmington University (DII), Goldey Beacom College (DII), and Delaware Technical Community College (NJCAA).

In addition to the roles above, Andres has extensive experience within youth soccer including as the Athletics Coordinator for the Latin American Community Center and the Director of Coaching/Urban League Director at Kirkwood Soccer Club. More recently, Andres served as the Director of Boys ECNL at FC Delco from 2017-2021.

He is coming to PASC from Norman, Oklahoma where he has been the Boys Director of Coaching at Oklahoma Celtic since 2021. Oklahoma Celtic is a very large club that boasts a robust recreational program, national success within the ECRL program, and intentional integration into the community. Andres led his 08 boys Oklahoma Celtic team to an ECRL National Championship victory in 2023, the first one for OC!

Andres' role at Phoenixville will be multi-faceted as we seek to maximize his vast experience. The Technical Director role will assist with all club programming as we grow the quality of our experiences and continue to cast a vision for the future.

More specifically, he will assist with the leadership of our competitive program including curriculum and the competitive calendar. Andres is excited to provide specific investment into our Zone 2 teams, especially related to the college recruitment process. In addition, he will use his expertise to mentor our coaching staff and enhance instruction. The Technical Director will also contribute to the continued growth of our recreational program both in content and structure. In light of his heritage from Columbia, Andres is passionate about the Latino community and is eager to enhance the accessibility that all members of the community have to soccer programming.

Andres had this to say about the position within Phoenixville Area Soccer Club:

"I'm incredibly excited to continue growing a club that places its players and community at the heart of everything we do. Bringing my past experiences in youth soccer and my collegiate coaching background, I'm confident that I can contribute to even greater success. Looking ahead, I'm eager to expand our footprint in the soccer region-not just in terms of competition, but also in building a reputation based on integrity, passion, and community involvement. I want to thank Ryan Gottier and the Board of Directors at PASC for this great opportunity. I can’t wait to come back to Pennsylvania, a place that feels like home."

I had the opportunity to meet Andres several years ago and was excited by the prospect of working together. While his soccer acumen is tremendous, it doesn't take long to observe his passion for impacting kids and the integrity that he endeavors to bring to his coaching and leadership roles.

As PASC continues to grow, we want to ensure that we can continue to provide an authentic soccer experience, in both recreational and competitive programming, that remains rooted to the community and maximizes player development. Andres fully fits that ethos and will bring a level of expertise that will, unquestionably, have a positive impact on this club and the larger Phoenixville community.

Andres is in the process of moving back to PA with his wife and young family and will begin his role at PASC on March 1st. If you see Andres in passing this spring, be sure to introduce yourself as we welcome him to the PASC family!
